On August 26, 2020 Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine (CDTO) Dmytro Senik met with Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Ukraine Hadi Nasser al-Hajri.

The sides discussed a wide range of issues on the agenda of Ukrainian-Qatari relations, focusing on the realization of the joint projects in infrastructure, energy, agriculture and aviation spheres.

Dmytro Senik emphasized that signing of the concession Agreement of the Ukrainian seaport «Olvia» to the Qatari company «QTerminals W.L.L.», which took place on August 20, 2020, was the starting point to implement the large-scale joint investment projects.

The Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs also confirmed the readiness of the Ukrainian side to receive His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar with a visit.

The sides stressed out the necessity of holding after lifting of existing restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic the Second session of the Joint Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Qatari Commission on Economic, Trade and Technical Cooperation, which would provide additional impetus for the intensification of the bilateral cooperation in the economic sphere.
